Hello, my name is Rob Allen. I'm the sales and finance manager here at Freedom Power Sports and this is my blog page. I had the idea to create a blog so that I can stay in better contact with our customers.
What I hope to accomplish and gain from having a blog:
1. I will be doing daily/weekly specials that will only be posted on the blog site. If you read the blog daily you'll always know about all of the specials.
2. I'll let you know first about any units that we've been out of stock of. You'll have the option to come see it or even buy it first.
3. I'll keep you up to date with industry news. When we come back from a show or seminar I'll post to the blog everything that you would want to know.
4. I'll keep you informed of events, promotions, bike nights, tent sales, and the ever popular 50% off sale.
5. You'll have contact with me and I'll have contact with you. Post your questions or topics that you would like to talk about and we'll discuss it.
I think this will be a great new way to stay connected and I look forward to all of your questions.

What is an RSS feed?
I discovered RSS feeds a while ago and think they are the coolest things ever. RSS stands for really simple syndication. Basically to read RSS feeds you will need to have an RSS reader. I personally use Yahoo and Google for my RSS reader and highly recommend one or both of them.
Okay, so again, what is an RSS feed? Lets say that you surf the web daily for all of your news, sports and entertainment. Lets say you visit 3 sites on a daily basis, USA Today, ESPN and Robs blog. Each day you go through each site perusing through everything and deciding whats worth reading. Wouldn't it be much better if you could get all three of those sites all on one page? Well with an RSS reader and subscribing to feeds you can. You would simply set up your reader and then go to each of the sites that I listed and follow that specific sites instructions for subscribing to their feed. Each day you would log into your RSS reader and there everything would be. It would basically look like your own customized web site with all of the information that you are interested in reading right there in front of you. RSS feeds are very customizable as well. Lets say you're only interested in news from USA today that's local and national. You could care less about what's going on in other parts of the world. Well RSS feeds allow you to only subscribe to the content that you like. Same thing for ESPN. You love football but hate basketball? You only have to get news from the sport that you like.
I purposely made sure that the blog site that I signed up with supported RSS feeds for the very reason that you will always be able to stay up to date with what I've posted without having to constantly check back with the blog itself. Set up your RSS reader with Google or Yahoo right away and subscribe to my feed and you will be able to see exactly when or if I've updated anything. It will be right there on your homepage constantly being monitored. WOW!! | |
